Position Summary | A postdoctoral research associate position is available in the Department of Pediatrics (Hematology/Oncology Division) to conduct research in pediatric cancers. The focus of lab is to identify the key tumorigenic pathways/drivers, and target these for cancer therapeutics using in vitro and in vivo pharmaco-genetic approaches. The special focus is on medulloblastoma (a pediatric brain cancer) with its most aggressive form. This lab is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral candidate with expertise in the molecular cell biology and animal model studies. The candidate should be familiar with mammalian cell culture, gene cloning, transfections, cell culture-based assays and animal handling. Experience in handling brain tumor mouse models with intracranial injections is highly encouraged. The candidate should also be familiar with basic data analyses and reporting and should be able to assist Principal Investigator (PI) with other aspects of the research program. |

Required Qualifications | PhD or MD/PhD in Molecular Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Cancer biology or a related discipline A strong experimental background with evidence of experimental skills related to cell biology, molecular biology, and cancer biology is mandatory. |
Supplemental Qualifications | First-author publications in peer-reviewed journals and the ability to write research papers. Able to conduct independent research without day-to-day supervision of the principal investigator. Knowledge of basic principles of safety regulation and good laboratory practice. |
