Responsibilities
 

The Project Controls Scheduler is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining schedules to support the effective management of a portfolio of projects throughout the project phases of initiation, planning, execution, and close-out.  Working closely with project management, engineering, construction, procurement, and other stakeholders, this role ensures that project timelines are realistic, achievable, and aligned with organizational goals.  Key responsibilities include but not limited to creating logic driven schedules, within Primavera, through effective work breakdown structures (WBS), tracking progress, performing schedule analysis, and identifying potential risks and delays including areas of float, all while utilizing critical path methodology and advanced scheduling techniques.  The scheduler uses project management tools and software to manage data, generate reports, and provide performance updates to the project manager and stakeholders.

This position requires a strong understanding of project management principles, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency in scheduling software specifically Primavera version 22.12 and above.  The ideal candidate has experience in working with cross-functional teams to develop schedule activities at the appropriate level in support of cost, contract, and resource management and recommending adjustments to improve project outcomes and continuous improvement.
 

1. Schedule Development:
 - Develop detailed project schedules in Primavera P6, including defining activities, durations, dependencies, and milestones, based on project scope and requirements. 


2. Progress Execution:
 - Assign resources to project activities and analyze resource constraints. 
 - Regularly update project schedules with actual progress data, identifying variances and potential schedule impacts. 
 - Identify critical path activities and analyze their impact on project completion and program impacts. 
 - Assess the impact of change orders on the project schedule and update accordingly. 
 - Developing and maintaining integrated project schedules to understand project and program dependencies.


3. Team Communication:
 - Collaborate with project members and sponsors to plan, organize, and execute assigned projects, ensuring schedule alignment while addressing any concerns. 
 - Proactively respond to issues, including the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks.
 - Build and maintain effective relationships with business partners while minimizing resource conflicts.
 - Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with the project schedule and address any concerns. 
 - Identification, sharing, and implementation of lessons learned across multiple projects to promote consistency in scheduling practices and improve project performance. 


4. Status Reporting:
 - Generate comprehensive schedule reports, including progress graphs, critical path analysis, and "what-if" scenarios for project stakeholders. 
 - Assess the impact of change orders on the project schedule and update accordingly. 
 - Identify potential schedule risks and develop mitigation strategies. 

Qualifications

 

Required: 
 - 5 years of project scheduling experience on construction or engineering related projects exceeding $2M with project team of 10 or more.
 - 2 years of program scheduling experience across a series of multiyear projects exceeding $5M.  
 - Expert Primavera P6 software version 22.12 experience. 
 - Strong understanding of project management principles and critical path methodology. 
 - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 
 - Detail-oriented with high attention to accuracy. 
 - Effective communication and collaboration skills. 
 - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
 - High school diploma or equivalent.
 

Desired: 
 - Bachelors degree (technical, financial, or management discipline) or associate degree.
 - Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Project and/or Smartsheet scheduling tools.
 - PowerBI experience.
 - Financial/Budget experience.
 - Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Base: $79,907

Midpoint: $99,884
