Patient Access Associate - Part-Time Weekends

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Patient Access Associate for Part-Time Weekend shifts. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff, ensuring a professional, welcoming, and efficient experience. Responsibilities include greeting patients, verifying appointments, screening visitors, assisting with patient wayfinding, distributing masks, and performing symptom screening while maintaining confidentiality and safety. The role requires excellent customer service, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities. While prior healthcare experience and knowledge of EPIC software are preferred, we are happy to train those who are eager to learn!

Location: Clarkson Tower at Nebraska Medical Center | Nebraska Medicine Omaha, NE

Shift Details:

  • Part-Time, 16 hrs/week

  • Saturday/Sunday 2:00pm-10:30pm

  • ***Mandatory Training for the first 2-3 weeks. Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

Duties: Patient Access Associate - Part-Time Weekends

Ensure patients, customers and staff are greeted in a professional, timely and efficient manner, screening those entering the organization efficiently to promote the safety of all patients, employees and providers while exceeding customer expectations and complying with all state and federal regulations and laws throughout processes of appointment confirmation, visitor validation, patient way finding/escorting, mask distribution and symptom screening. To complete items related to patient registration and other assigned Revenue Cycle tasks in accordance to policy and procedure. Coverage for position is required days and evening hours, 7 days a week including holidays with needs in various areas throughout the organization. Face to face patient contact required.

Required Qualifications: Patient Access Associate - Part-Time Weekends

* High school education or equivalent required.

* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of hire required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).
* Ability to work in a proactive self-directed manner required.
* Multi-tasking and problem solving abilities required.
* Demonstrates the ability to form and maintain working relationships within the organization to foster a team environment required.

* Ability to deal with difficult or challenging customer interactions and escalate to leadership as appropriate required.

Preferred Qualifications: Patient Access Associate - Part-Time Weekends

* Prior experience working with customers or patients preferred.
* Experience with general office materials/equipment preferred.
* Depending on the position available, fluency in Spanish preferred.
