Description

We are seeking a responsible and reliable Building Monitor to oversee the safety, security, and general use of our facility during evening and weekend hours. This position plays a key role in ensuring the building is a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for staff, visitors, and community members.

Job Duties

Open and close the facility according to scheduled hours
Monitor building activity and ensure safety protocols are followed
Perform routine walkthroughs of the facility to check for maintenance or safety issues
Respond to emergencies, incidents, or facility concerns in a timely and professional manner
Assist visitors and facility users with directions, basic information, or room access
Maintain cleanliness in shared spaces; report larger maintenance needs to appropriate staff
Enforce building rules and regulations respectfully
Complete incident or activity reports as required
Performs other duties as assigned.Â

Qualifications

Previous experience in security, customer service, or facility monitoring preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently and remain calm in emergencies
Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays
Must be able to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods
Ability to pass a background check

Physical Demands

The employee frequently is required to sit and stand for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipment
Bending, stooping & stretching
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear
Ability to lift up to 30lbs
