The Program Supervisor’s primary responsibility it to Center for Promoting Health and Health Equity, housed in Multicultural and Community Affairs department. Provides health education and organizes/ conducts community focus groups on health topics. Builds and maintains community relationships. Seeks and develops grant opportunities. Assists grant writing processes. Assists students, faculty and staff in the Center for Promoting Health and Health Equity regarding programs and requirements. Has supervisory duties over research programs. Works collaboratively with the Center’s Governing Partnership. Reports to the Center’s Co-Executive Directors.

  • Provides health education to the community on health-related topics. Organizes focus groups in the community and serves as the key point person on health disparities. Provides health disparities and outreach presentation and workshops to faculty, staff, and students. Contributes regarding cultural competency and intercultural learning. Creates and maintain relationships with other community stakeholders as it relates to health and health disparities.
  • Assists students, faculty, staff, and community with inquiries regarding programs and requirements. Serves as a community liaison and point of contact on Public Health, Health Disparities, Health Equity, and related activities.
  • Supervises preparation of marketing materials and organizes the speakers and program for the annual Health Disparities Seminar in collaboration with the staff of HS-MACA. Also participates in the planning and delivery of the annual Dr. Jeffrey M. Smith Memorial Lecture Series and the Dr. Frank T. Peak Health Disparities Essay Competition.
  • Aggressively seeks grant opportunities and assists in the grant writing process.
  • Supervises the Summer Research Institute for the pre-collegiate and collegiate students.
    Provides operational management to the Center for Promoting Health and Health Equity.
  • Supervises and coordinates all office activities, including: processing requests for new or replacement positions, preparing annual salary budget, maintaining evaluation of staff, students and interns, maintains budget, prepares requisitions, maintains financial records and accounts, tracks and manages revenue reports, reviews banner updates and processes reports.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Public Health, Public Administration or related field required.
  • 2-4 years related experience.
  • Supervisory experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Experience in writing manuscripts and other documents.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Analytical skills required.
