Children’s Nebraska in affiliation with the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, is currently accepting applications for Division Chief of General Pediatrics. Academic pediatric generalists at the rank of Associate or Full Professor are encouraged to apply. All individuals will hold faculty appointments at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. Research interests are strongly desired and supported. The candidate will have administrative, academic and clinical practice management experience within a complex, pediatric tertiary care center. In this role, the Division Chief will lead the faculty in all clinical and academic mission areas, including clinical service, education of trainees at all levels, research program development, and administrative activities of all divisional programs. Strong leadership skills and the ability to develop trust and work cooperatively in a diverse and inclusive environment are essential.

Children’s Nebraska is a 225-bed nonprofit organization caring for children since 1948. Founded by the community and for the community, Children’s is the only full-service, pediatric specialty health center in Nebraska, providing expertise in more than 50 pediatric specialty services to children across a five-state region and beyond. Our state-of-the-art Hubbard Center for Children is home to Nebraska’s only Level IV regional Newborn Intensive Care Unit, Fetal Care Center, the state’s only Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, a first-in-the-region Cardiac Care Unit, and more.

The Child Health Research Institute, an innovative partnership between UNMC and Children’s Nebraska, promotes research in pediatric health, consolidates research in pediatric disease from both hospitals into one institute, and advances knowledge about childhood health and diseases. It was established in 2017 and aims to assist investigators with start-up funding and infrastructure for clinical, basic science or translational research.
