Children’s Nebraska, with the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, is currently recruiting a Clinical Metabolic Geneticist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. This candidate must be BE/BC in Pediatrics and Genetics with a clinical and research focus on inherited metabolic diseases. The candidate will join an active clinical team consisting of geneticists, metabolic dieticians, nurse practitioner and genetic counselors with a reputation for outstanding services.
The successful candidate is expected to develop a clinical and/or laboratory-based research program in inborn errors of metabolism and will be supported by appropriate time and resources. The Child Health Research Institute, an innovative partnership between UNMC and Children’s Nebraska, was established in 2017 and aims to assist investigators with start-up funding and infrastructure for clinical, basic science or translational research. The Division of Inherited Metabolic Diseases in the Department of Pediatrics has laboratory expertise and equipment to carry out a range of biochemical and molecular studies. The University of Nebraska Medical Center provides outstanding laboratory resources for pursuing all types of research, along with collaborative opportunities for interacting with clinical and basic scientists. More than 30 core labs offer specialized expertise and research support services. Educational opportunities exist for clinicians to obtain post-graduate training and degrees in translational sciences.
