This position will serve on a highly collaborative Data Analytics team delivering health data analytics and informatics for groups, providers, members, leadership and the Board. As a member of an agile team, you will receive guidance from senior analysts in understanding and interpreting the business impacts of the data and assist in extracting, preparing, analyzing and interpreting data to provide insight for decision support to external and internal stakeholders. BCBSNE is happy to offer four work designations for our Omaha area employees: 100% in-office, Hybrid options, and 100% remote. If choosing to work remote, this role can be located in one of the following states: Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Texas.  

What you'll do:

  • Provide analytic solutions for enterprise stakeholders via reporting, analytic research, model development, and/or BI development in building interactive dashboards.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand trends within our data and solutions around employer group reporting, provider payment methodology & analytics, care management analytics, etc.
  • Serve on highly collaborative Agile team of analysts dedicated to producing timely, high quality analytic solutions to solve company problems.
  • Work in conjunction with senior analysts to follow standardized processes and the individualized expansion of knowledge in better understanding business operations and the use of technical tools.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Bachelorâ??s degree or equivalent and up to 2 yearsâ?? experience in data analysis.
  • Knowledge of SQL and/or data analytics.
  • Proficiency in Excel (vlookup, pivot tables, advanced functions).
  • Analytic skills to construct impactful findings from the extraction, manipulation and understanding of various types of data.
  • Successful experience working in a cross-functional environment.
  • Experience effectively communicating with stakeholder groups and building trust with customers.

The strongest candidates for this position will also possess:

  • Experience working within an environment that utilizes Agile and/or Project Management techniques.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure DataBricks.
  • Knowledge of visualization best practices as well as experience with visualization tools such as PowerBI and/or Tableau.
  • Analytical Abilities: Proficiency in conducting ad hoc clinical data analysis
  •  Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of healthcare data systems, electronic health records (EHR), and data extraction tools.
  • Clinical experience: experience in clinical practice, healthcare quality improvement, or health informatics.
  • HEDIS/Quality Experience: Extensive history with STARS, MA HEDIS, and HEDIS/Quality initiatives, demonstrating a deep understanding of quality measures and improvement strategies.
  • Collaborative Skills: Ability to work closely with HEDIS vendors to enhance data quality in extracts and maintain consistent data runs.
  •  Coordination Skills: Effective coordination with IS and Business teams to ensure seamless integration and communication.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data analysis and reporting.
