Nebraska Cancer Specialists is the regional leader in cancer diagnosis, treatment and research.   We are seeking to fill an IT Support Technician who will be responsible for help desk and IT support services for desktop computers, applications, and related technology. This position's support includes troubleshooting, installation and testing of computer systems and peripherals within our clinics and will be on site. 

 

Technical Support

  • Respond to helpdesk tickets and provide first-tier support to end users.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Configure, install, and maintain computer systems, mobile devices, applications, and peripherals.
  • Perform user provisioning setup, deletions, transfers, email/security group management in Active Directory.
  • Install and perform minor repairs on hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
  • Set up equipment for employee use, ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, and software.
  • Perform mobile device setup and troubleshooting.
  • Clear printer files and queues; manage printer assignments.
  • Reset passwords and apply security procedures to ensure system access and data integrity.
  • Document issue resolutions and maintain records of IT activities and transactions.
  • Participate in change management processes and outage communications.
  • Escalate complex issues appropriately to Systems Administrator or higher-level support.

Customer Support

  • Communicate effectively with users to understand technical problems and explain solutions clearly.
  • Provide training to users on best practices and appropriate use of technology.
  • Respond to service requests via help desk ticketing system, phone, or email in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prioritize requests  appropriately and manage time effectively.

Project Support

  • Participate in IT projects such as hardware and software rollouts, system upgrades, and deployments.
  • Provide input on policies and procedures related to IT support and operations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of IT support experience in a support role
  • Associate degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting Windows operating systems and mobile platforms.
  • Familiarity with Office 365, and Active Directory.
  • Knowledge of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN).
  • Experience using help desk ticketing systems (experience with Freshservice is a plus).
  • Ability to lift and carry IT equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to drive and perform field work across multiple clinic sites.
