Overview of Duties:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Finance Manager to oversee and manage the financial operations of our nonprofit organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong financial management, budgeting, and accounting background, with a passion for supporting Banisters Leadership Academy's nonprofit missions and community initiatives.
As a Finance Manager, you will ensure our organization's financial health and sustainability, enabling us to deliver our programs and services to the community effectively. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing budgets, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. You will collaborate closely with the executive team, board members, and program team leads to provide financial insights and guidance, helping to inform strategic decisions and organizational planning. Additionally, you will oversee financial audits, manage grant funding, and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to stakeholders and funding agencies.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage organizational budgets and financial forecasts.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee financial audits and coordinate with external auditors.
- Manage grant funding, including tracking expenditures and preparing financial reports.
- Maintain internal financial controls and ensure transparency in financial transactions.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to provide financial insights and strategic recommendations.
- Oversee payroll processing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow management.
Requirements:
- Associate and/or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; or 3-5 years minimum of accounting/ business experience
- Experience in financial management.
- Strong knowledge of accounting practices and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience managing budgets, financial forecasting, and grant funding.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to ethical financial management and organizational transparency.
