Job Summary

We are seeking a VP Applications Development - CRM (Salesforce) to lead cross functional, agile development teams to drive complex business and technology evolution. Partner with business and technology teams to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality solutions that meet customer needs. Attract, coach, and mentor team members for high performance. Collaborate with all technology leaders and teams serving as an initiator and driver of evolutionary improvement. Create meaningful measures of team success and actively lead the on-going improvement of the team and development of new best practices. Act as a principal agile/lean coach as related to feature development and solution delivery.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of technology solutions.
    • Provide direct leadership for cross-functional development teams, comprising of internal technology and product team members and/or external partners, to deliver best-in-class technology solutions while meeting time to market needs.
    • Develop resource plans that are aligned with investment objectives and manage the involvement of team members with the technical competencies necessary to achieve the desired results.
    • Ensure work aligns with organizational priorities and is sequenced and scoped appropriately to achieve the desired outcomes.
    • Collaborate with product and business teammates to develop incremental release plans that maximize value and align with go to market strategies.
    • Champion lean and agile processes to optimize the flow of work and create efficiencies.
    • Guide teams through the software development lifecycle driving the delivery of high-quality solutions in a timely manner.
    • Breakdown large, complex projects into meaningful iterative segments, with an emphasis on delivering value quickly and frequently, to reduce deployment risk and meet the needs of customers.
    • Create and communicate expectations for delivery including estimates and solution feasibility, with an understanding of known risks and constraints.
    • Proactively mitigate risk of scope creep and business impact during transformational change.
    • Resolve impediments and team issues in collaboration with leadership and other technology and business teams.
    • Own the KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and visualizations for an agile team providing meaningful insights into team progress and performance.
    • Provide support and maintenance of assigned systems to ensure the security and reliability of solutions for teammates and customers.
  • Partner strategically with business and technology teams.
    • Partner with business and product teammates to build and support plans for strategic goals.
    • Collaborate with peers to evolve software development practices driving efficiencies and experiences that empower teammates to do their best work.
    • Maintain a strong understanding of current initiatives, technical strategies, and product roadmaps to provide appropriate direction and insight into work, connecting the work of teams to organizational strategy.
    • Create technology evolution in alignment with business priorities and technology strategies.
    • Champion technology enablement through the creation and facilitation of formal and informal technology education initiatives.

      • Understand organizational goals and objectives and how defined technical strategies support and enable them.
      • Embrace change and drive the adoption of modern technologies and processes to work more efficiently.
      • Understand and communicate the value technical work brings and use that to set the investment for all work within the team.
      • Stay current on technical and architectural guidance, directing teams to ensure it is being applied appropriately within solutions.
      • Participate in the development of technology initiatives and improvement activities.
      • Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the development team, championing modern technologies, methodologies, and tools.
      • Stay up to date with the latest trends and developments in software development, identifying opportunities for improvement and growth.
      • Participate in or lead cross-functional groups aligned with technical or organizational initiatives.

    Education Requirements

    • Bachelor'sDegree Minimum in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science or related field

    Years of Experience

    • 10 + years of experience, including some prior leadership experience in Delivering technology solutions
    • Agile / lean project management

    Certification and Technical Requirements

    • Knowledge of customer service philosophies and the role of information management; computer hardware, software, languages, environments, and related matters.
    • Strong understanding of software development processes, multi-tier and web-based application design, software quality and reliability, and relational database development.
    • Detailed knowledge of all phases in the software development lifecycle.
    • Understanding of Salesforce and related third party platforms and technologies including integration patterns.
    • Experience with, or certification in, agile frameworks expected.
    • Proficient in Windows environment and use of Microsoft Office Suite.
