Benefits Specialist

 

About the Role: As a Benefits Specialist, you'll play a vital role in managing and optimizing our university's comprehensive employee benefits and wellness programs. You'll be responsible for day-to-day operations and for ensuring our employees receive top-notch benefits and support.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Benefits Administration: Oversee the administration of various benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, retirement plans, and more.
  • Employee Support: Provide exceptional customer service by answering employee inquiries, conducting benefits orientations, and resolving issues promptly.
  • Compliance: Stay up-to-date on compliance regulations (COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ERISA) and ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting.
  • Vendor Management: Build strong relationships with vendors and third-party administrators to optimize service delivery and cost-effectiveness.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in employee benefits administration
  • Strong knowledge of benefits regulations and compliance requirements
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
